Hotline Gives Member Access to Advice 24/7
This self-help tool is available in the "Members Only" section of the website, with an icon linked from the W.A.R. homepage, www.warealtor.com. The database can be searched by both keyword and frequent topics; content converted into the database was screen for relevancy and culled from past hotline questions. The current months' Questions of the Week are posted on the main hotline page.
"This conversion of the Legal Hotline information into a searchable database was a big project, and a real benefit to members," said Vice President for Business Practices Jim Remy."We now have access to the last three year's of hotline questions any time we want to consult them, day or night."
Hotline Attorney Annie Fitzsimmons, who joined the W.A.R. effort in February 2001, has been key in the database conversion. "W.A.R. has such a wealth of legal information for its members," she commented. "I am excited that the association has been able to put the information into a format where it can be used easily and frequently."
Fitzsimmons continues to compose the answers to the weekly hotline query. Members can pose questions by email at email@example.com. Questions and answers will continue to be disseminated by Friday Facts, as well as posted on the new site.
The Legal Hotline and Legal Library are provided as a service to the members of the Washington Association of REALTORS®. The purpose is to provide members with legal information as an educational tool, not legal representation. This service offers answers to real estate questions that have broad applicability. The hotline will not represent any party in a transaction. An attorney continues to be an important part of real estate business.
