"My purpose in seeking this position is to expand on work already begun," Flynn commented. "Having served on Legislative Steering and the Economic Development Task Force during the development of the Quality of Life program, I have a thorough understanding of the aims, intricacies and limitations of the program as we see it today. We need to improve the communication of important ideas like Quality of Life within our organization. I believe it is the responsibility of the VP of Government Affairs to measure the pulse of this communication and make sure we 'get it right.' I am certainly willing to do my part." As an appointee, Flynn is expected to stand for election to the position in September; if elected, he will serve as VP of Government Affairs in 2002. Flynn's previous association service includes: TPCAR director, 1996-99; TPCAR chair of government affairs, 1998; TPCAR president 2000; W.A.R. director 1999-present; W.A.R. Legislative Steering Committee 1991-present, and chair 2001. He has been a REALTORŪ at John L. Scott/University Place since 1993. Posted 6/28/01. Archived 8/2/01.
